Mission and Philosophy

Our mission is to inspire, empower, and educate the consumer in becoming their own agent of change. The interconnectedness of exercise and its positive impact on physical and mental health across the lifespan, is intrinsic to the attainment of all other aspirations.

An exercise program needs to be modeled on a plural approach to achieve a complex outcome. Core principles of evidence based empirical exercise physiology, together with modern functional strength and conditioning theories produce desired results. Each session begins with a coherent and well-structured warmup, utilizing this time to observe any weak links in the kinetic chain. Progression to a series of global movement patterns, which challenges multiple muscle groups, follows. Refining further, we take a narrower focus in which demand is placed on a specific muscles. Finally, a cool down "finisher" rounds out the session, where the payoff of hard work and goals reached are celebrated! 

Education must be centered around the students in question. From many diverse origins, we establish community in the classroom setting. The professor will inspire and motivate through servant leadership; in that the students thoughts, needs, goals, and abilities are distinctly represented when new and challenging content is displayed. 

The professor is expected to establish course objectives and provide a means for the content to be most easily transmitted. Through this the depths of student curiosity, creativity, and success may be seen through individual work. 

The professor has the responsibility to actively engage students in high-level class discussion at various points in the lecture. Further, an environment where each student feels supported at all times by the professor is encouraged. Thereby, continuous exploration of related content once the student completes the course is expected.

As the students change with each new academic year, so will the means in which the content will be taught. This requires a professional, and highly objective pursuit in the advancement of knowledge from my self.
